Puffed Frech Toast
Buttermilk Syrup
Sausage Links
Orange Julius


Puffed French Toast: 
1 Egg
1 1/4 t. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
1/4 t salt
1/4 t. vanilla
6 slices of bread (cut diagonally)
Oil for frying
cinnamon and sugar mixture
Strawberries (optional)

Beat all ingredients together. After the oil is heated, soak both sides of bread in the batter and set in the oil. Cook until puffed, golden brown on both sides. Check often. Do not let it burn! Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel. Roll each piece in cinnamon sugar.
**Serve with buttermilk syrup and sliced strawberries

Buttermilk Syrup
1/2 c. unsalted butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 T honey
1 t. baking soda
2 t. vanilla
Pinch of Salt

Add butter, sugar, buttermilk, honey, and salt to a medium pan. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. add baking soda and stir for 1 minute (it will foam and triple amount) Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Syrup will thicken. Drizzle over French toast.


Orange Julius
1 can of frozen orange juice
1 c. milk
1/2 c sugar
1 t. vanilla
12 ice cubes
1 c. water
